Pandora Internet Radio is a part of the Music Genome Project that provides a music streaming service as well as music recommendations. The online radio platform has been suffering gradual user losses each quarter for some time, and has lost more than ten million U.S. Whilst Pandora will not be able to keep up with streaming heavyweights like Spotify when it comes to versatility, user experience, or reach, the company's future certainly looks brighter.In the first quarter of 2023, Pandora had close to 46.7 million monthly active users in the United States. So far the move seems to be working well for both companies. Meanwhile, Pandora, whose problem has consistently been getting its users to part with their money, can take advantage of Sirius XM’s position as satellite radio monopoly by being placed in front of audience of radio fans who are willing to pay for content.
